According to the most recent Google Play Store rankings, Indrive, a worldwide mobility and urban services platform, is now the most popular app in Pakistan’s Maps & Navigation category. Additionally, the app is ranked #1 in the Apple App Store’s Travel category. The move represents a turning point in the nation’s changing mobility scene, particularly in light of changing user demands.
InDrive was established in 2021 in Pakistan and now operates in more than 20 cities. Its peer-to-peer pricing approach enables direct fare negotiations between drivers and passengers, which sets it apart from more established platforms that rely on surge-based algorithms.
The platform’s rapid ascent in the app store rankings coincides with urban commuters’ increasing focus on control and affordability. According to Awais Saeed, Country Manager for Indrive Pakistan, “Our model resonates because it puts people first – they decide the price, not an algorithm.”

He continued by saying that local adoption and an emphasis on growing into underserved areas have been the main drivers of inDrive’s growth. Additionally, we are funding social impact activities, such as assistance for drivers’ families, future training projects, and the anticipated onboarding of female drivers.
The increasing desire for rider autonomy, safety, and transparency especially in Pakistan’s cost-conscious metropolitan areas is what is driving Indrive’s growth. Through its innovative business strategy, Indrive enables users to suggest fares based on factors like time, distance, or what they believe is reasonable, and drivers have the option to accept, reject, or haggle.
InDrive links individuals through a variety of services, including as courier, freight delivery, city-to-city transport, and business-to-business (B2B) solutions, in addition to ride-hailing. The platform is still expanding globally, ranking fifth in the global travel app category and second in the world’s ride-hailing app downloads for the third year in a row.
